Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Eli Lilly and Company announced results from a retrospective analysis of more than 778,000 patients that showed the addition of BYETTA® (exenatide) injection to pre-existing diabetes treatment regimens was associated with a reduced likelihood of heart failure, especially among patients receiving insulin. |

News Scios Announces Results of ASCEND Heart Failure Study at the Scientific Sessions of the American Heart Association
Scios Inc. announced that the landmark investigational study of NATRECOR® (nesiritide) for the treatment of acutely decompensated heart failure (ADHF), ASCEND-HF, demonstrated no statistically significant difference from placebo in the co-primary endpoints of dyspnea, measured at six and 24 hours, or in the composite of heart failure re-hospitalizations and death during the first 30 days following treatment. |
